Alejandro Marco Gómez Lopera

Professor of Musical Technology at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música Victoria Eugenia de Granada (Spain), where he previously obtained a degree in Composition (2007) and in Classical Guitar (2001).

His works have received national and international awards including:

  • “No Gravity” for bass clarinet, tape and live electronics. First prize at the 2nd International Andrzej Dobrowolski Composition Competition 2026 in Poznań (Poland).
  • The Willow and the Storm” for classical guitar, First Prize at the 6th Miquel Llobet International Guitar Competition 2025 in Barcelona (Spain)
  • “Enkidu” for harp and tape, Honorable Mention at the Gilgamesh International Composition Competition 2025 in Los Angeles (USA)
  • “Julia in the Enchanted Forest”, for clarinet and tape, Second Prize at the International Composer Competition Artistes en Herbe 2025 (Luxembourg)
  • “The Hidden Heart of the Mountain”, for Timpani solo, Third Prize at the International Timpani Composition Competition of Lyon – 2025, Lyon (France)
  • “Eternal Instant” for piano, Second Prize at the piano category of the third European Creative Contest 2024 – International Composer Competition – 2024, Trento (Italy)

His works have been premiered and performed at prestigious international events, including the 35th Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano (Italy), the XVI World Saxophone Congress (St Andrews, Scotland), and the X and XI FEX extensions of the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada (Spain). Additionally, his compositions have been performed on stages in various countries, such as Austria, Italy, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

He has worked as an orchestrator and arranger on the album “Concierto benéfico por el Conservatorio Narciso Yepes de Lorca (en directo)” for the band Vetusta Morla and the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia.

His audiovisual output has received the following awards:

  • “Baby?”, First Prize of the Audience at the III Competition of Ráfagas of TVE (Spanish Public Television)
  • “Sueños”, finalist at the International Festival of Young Producers of Granada 2007, I Audiovisual Competition Tejidos Digitales 2007 (Madrid, Spain) and Cinespaña Festival 2007 (Toulouse, France)
  • “Alma Cautiva”, Second Prize at the International Festival of Young Film Producers of Granada 2008

He served as the director and audiovisual designer for the “Mercé Sinfónico” tour with flamenco singer José Mercé, and the “Horizontes” tour with flamenco composer and pianist Dorantes. In addition, he has collaborated with numerous artists, including Ara Malikian, Sigma Project, Taller Sonoro, and the Partiture Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
